What Does This Symbol Mean?

I cannot find any referrence to its meaning, can anyone help?

I do really wish that I could remember precisely. It has something to do with the Knights Templar, the Masonic movement, the suppression of the Cathars etc. It comes from somewhere around there. I know that the British Museum could help you. Try asking them there. I think that it costs $15.00 search fee but you will get a very detailed answer. The last time I asked them something really obscure, I got 12 pages of info.

This is just a guess, but it looks like a wonky peace sign, or possibly a naval insignia
