What Are Some Notable Colleges/universities In Northeast Us?
Arraynot found.I have thought of Liberty University, however I soon nixed that idea after taking in to consideration the far location- and its Conservative teachings, which I severely disagree with.
Also, I have considered Penn State, Maryland State, and IUP.
I have also visited the US Naval Acadamy in Annapoli
s, but obviously that didn't last much longer than Liberty.
What do you recommend?
New York University is all I can think of. Also, look at some schools in Washington D.C
Not sure what you mean by “notable” – there are scores of high rated universities and colleges in the Northeaster and Eastern USA. All the Ivies, Duke, MIT, Johns Hopkins, Georgetown,NYU and world famous colleges such as Swarthmore, Amherst, Williams, Middlebury, etc.
If you check the US News college rankings, there are over 100 first tier universities… any one of them is a good bet for an excellent education.
Some schools that I particularly like are Fordham, BC, Rochester, WPI, BC, George Washington, These are all very good schools that are not as competitive as the highest rank of elite schools, but which hold the respect of everyone knowledgable about colleges.
The college search programs at collegeboard.com and princetonreview.com are a great way to narrow down your choices. You really need to think a bit more about what you want in a school… your list up to this point seems pretty random!

I’m not sure I’ve seen a more haphazard approach to finding a school than yours. You need a plan.
Go to Princeton Review’s web site (see link below). They have a tool where you tell it about your background and interests and it suggests schools that are appropriate for you.
The whole Ivy League is in the northeast for starters. Perhaps you could let us know what is important to you in a school, and also a range in which your GPA/SAT falls, and we could help you narrow things down.
Syracuse. Great reputation, great athletics, great for job placement, great campus. Overall, an amazing college experience if you can stand the cold.
How about Harvard? Does that sound notable enough?
It depends a lot on what you are looking for in a school. You want a large university?
If you’re willing to look as far south as Virginia, Virginia has good out-of-state tuition. UVA is in Charlottesville. As a native Marylander growing up, I have to say I wouldn’t recommend University of Maryland. It’s not in an urban setting, College Park is this urban sprawl suburb, not a pretty place. Frostburg and Salisbury Universities are remote but have charm in their surroundings (also huge parties at Frostburg, not sure if that is your thing… oops, I mean, make sure you study!) Did you want to look as far north as Boston? I would also recommend you stay away from St. John’s in Annapolis… many friends with bad experiences there…
